जैवलिन थ्रो में सुमित अंतिल (Sumit Antil) ने भाला फेंक में नए वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड के साथ भारत की झोली में एक और स्वर्ण पदक डाल दया है । सुमित F64 फाइनल कैटिगरी में शाम के समय भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व करने उतरे थे। इससे पहले सुबह जैवलिन थ्रो की AF 46 स्पर्धा में देवेंद्र झझारिया और सुंदर सिंह गुर्जर ने दो मेडल एक सिल्वर और एक ब्रॉन्ज मेडल अपने नाम किए थे ।

सुमित अंतिल (Sumit Antil) ने शाम को अपनी स्पर्धा में जिस दूरी का भाला फेंका है उसने नया वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड और गोल्ड मेडल दोनों ही भारत के नाम कर दिए । सुमित अंतिल (Sumit Antil) ने इस दौरान तीन बार वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड बनाया। उन्होंने सबसे पहले 66.95 मीटर, दूसरी बार 68.08 मीटर और फिर 5वीं और आखिरी बार 68.55 मीटर का भाला फेंककर नया वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड बनाया है । सुमित (Sumit Antil) की इस स्वर्ण पदक की बदौलत अब तक भारत के मेडल की कुल संख्या 7 हो गई है। जिनमे 2 गोल्ड , 4 सिल्वर और 1 ब्रॉन्ज शामिल है ।
